SYNOPSIS: Reformed yakuza hitman “Phoenix” Tetsu is trying to go straight, but his former gang pulls him back into a bloody turf war when a rival syndicate sets its sights on their territory. Forced to become a drifter, wandering across Japan while dodging assassins sent to kill him, Tetsu is caught between his code of loyalty and his desire for a new life, all rendered in director Seijun Suzuki’s delirious, pop-art visual style.
